Andrew Bynum, the new Philadelphia 76ers center, made it through the 2011-12 season without injury. It was important for him because he needed the shed the developing image of a potential-filled but injury-prone big man.Not only did he avoid injury, but Bynum flourished, making the all-star team and becoming an important piece to the Los Angles Lakers’ success. Now a Sixer after being a part of the blockbuster trade that brought Dwight Howard to the Lakers, Bynum is taking steps to assure his knees hold up next season. (It’s also important to note that he will be a free agent after the season, and a healthy and productive year could land him an astronomical contract in Philadelphia or somewhere else.)While playing with Kobe Bryant, Bynum, 24, heard the superstar guard espouse the virtues of a radical, non-surgical treatment he had on his knee that wrought tremendous results. And according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Bynun will travel to Germany to have the same thing done on his knee. The procedure is called Orthokine/Regenokine and it is a derivation of platelet-rich plasma therapy that Bryant, Grant Hill and baseball’s Alex Rodriguez all tried with great results.Bynum has been plagued by knee injuries throughout his career, but supposedly is not suffering from any knee injuries at the moment. But Bryant spoke so adamantly about it — and Bynum saw first-hand the buoyancy in Bryant’s gait after the treatment that he was impressed. So Bynum is looking at the procedure as a preventative measure and an opportunity to get his knees to feel better and stronger..He played in 60 out of a possible 66 games during last season’s lockout-shortened campaign. The 7-footer averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in 35.2 minutes per game, all career highs. His agent as indicated he will test the free-agent market next year. And it would be a lot more lucrative to do so coming off an injury-free season.

YouTube ScreenshotMammootty, the megastar of Mollywood is now enjoying the success of his latest release ‘Madhura Raja’ directed by Vyshakh. The film which hit the screens all around the world on April 12, 2019, received mixed to positive reviews from critics, and it successfully collected more than Rs 11 crore at the box-office in its opening weekend from Kerala alone. At the end of its six-day theatrical run, the film has apparently collected Rs 16 crores from the Mollywood box-office, and the worldwide collection has already crossed Rs 13 crores. In all probabilities, ‘Madhura Raja’ will emerge as the biggest hit in the career of Mammootty, and if everything goes well, the film may enter the elite 50 crore club by the end of this weekend. It should be noted that family audiences have picked ‘Madhura Raja’ as their vacation pick, and the current trends indicate that the film is going to enjoy a long run at the Kerala box-office. However, being a mass masala entertainer, the collection of the film, especially in multiplexes is expected to witness a drastic dip. In the meantime, collections in single screens are witnessing a steady rise.On the other hand, Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ is also enjoying its dream run at the box-office. The film has already collected more than Rs 115 crores worldwide, and if the film succeeds in maintaining this momentum for another one month, it may emerge as the biggest Mollywood blockbuster of all time by breaking the collection record of ‘Pulimurugan’.’Madhura Raja’ is such a film that could not be considered as an in and out mass entertainer, instead, this film is basically a comedy entertainer with some mass elements from Mammootty. In this movie, Mammootty can be seen playing the role of Raja, a good with the heart of gold. Due to expected circumstances, Raja becomes compelled to lock horns with an illicit liquor baron, and this forms the major crux of the movie.Apart from Mammootty, ‘Madhura Raja’ also stars Anusree, Jagapathi Babu, Narain, Salim Kumar, Anusree, Mahima Nambiar, Nedumudi Venu, Shamna Kasim, and Vijayaraghavan in other prominent roles.

Kolkata: The health grievance redressal toll-free number ~ 104, which was introduced by the state Health department a few months ago, has failed to bring desired results due to a lack of awareness among the people about the mechanism, feels the department officials. The main purpose behind launching the toll-free number was to provide a platform so that people can express their grievances relating to health services in all the state-run hospitals, including the medical colleges. The complaint received on the toll-free number is forwarded to the Health department, which in turn checks it with the hospitals and conducts a probe. Instead of lodging a complaint, the family members often indulge in violence, attacking on-duty doctors and nurses.Interestingly, very few of the affected victims go ahead and register an official complaint by dialling the toll-free number. It has been learnt from the Health department sources that a majority of the people who bring the charges of serious medical negligence against the doctors, nurses or other health workers in the government hospitals, do not follow the right procedure. Also Read – Speeding Jaguar crashes into Mercedes car in Kolkata, 2 pedestrians killedFollowing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s instruction, the Health department had launched a new mechanism where the patients or their family members can lodge complaints against doctors or any staff for negligence, at all the government hospitals. Banerjee had asked the top brass of the department to put in place a proper redressal mechanism to address the issue of medical negligence. The system has been functional for quite some time, but the majority of people visiting the hospitals are not aware about the redressal mechanism of the Health department. When inquired about the redressal system, around six patients and their relatives, out of a total of 20 who visited the emergency and outpatient departments of NRS Medical College and Hospital and the Calcutta Medical College on Monday morning, said that they are aware of the toll-free number, while the rest answered in negative.People visiting various departments of the hospitals often bring charges of medical negligence, but many such cases are not reported. It may be mentioned here that a scuffle had broken out between junior doctors and some relatives of a patient, who died of alleged medical negligence at the emergency ward of NRS Medical College and Hospital.Subrata Santra, a resident of Ghola in North 24-Parganas, had brought his ailing son Sayantan (12) at the outpatient department of NRS Medical College on Monday morning.Santra said that he is aware of the toll-free number and added that the Health department should address the complaints within a stipulated time. Introduction of the toll-free number will fail to bring desired results, unless the complaints are addressed on time, he said. A local businessman, Santra also said that the state government must ensure wide publicity of the toll-free number in all the government hospitals.
